This was one of those exciting projects where I get the opportunity to work with a whole post-production team to bring the final video to life!

To kick start the project off, I was sent the footage from the team in London to my studio in Poole via Dropbox and get sync'ing the sound to the picture. I was then given a storyboard to follow for the first cut which was a brilliant help to get my edit style for the project in sync with what the team were after.

After I'd cut the first pass, I started to layer in sound effects to really get the audience immersed in the videos world. When I don't have music underscoring a video, my favourite sound effects to use tend to be risers and bass drops to create a sense of tension rising and reaching a crescendo. With this project, I was able to also use thunder as a crescendo aid. I then built and layered on this through the piece so the audience would feel the videos progression.
I then did an initial colour correction and grade so the client would be able to visualise it all coming together. Leaning more on the blue hues of the previous content the client had made for this project.

We then worked with the client to whittle the video into what they were after. I really enjoy these moments with a client as they're brilliant opportunities for us all to progress a video. Passing ideas back and fourth and growing with them together to reach something that shows the extent of the teams knowledge and creativity.
When we locked in the cut, I was then able to prepare the assets for the various departments that would help take us across the finish line. We had a professional grader take the grade further. A VFX artist to create some glows in the back pack and the book. A sound designer who took my temp sound design and took it further and finished it off with a professional mix. Together, we were able to deliver a highly professional video at a speed that would not have been achievable as one person.
I really enjoy how it's all come together and have been very impressed with how
it's been received by the public and I look forward to more projects bringing a team together like this.
