Interview time with Gaz

To create the backbone of my short documentary film trilogy, I'm recording an interview with each individual.

As I am making this films from a production side of things mostly on my own, it took longer than I'd hoped to rig all the lighting, sound and cameras and make sure the set was looking cool.

With everything setup and Chloe having just arrived to grab some behind the scenes photos, we got into action filming the interview.

One thing I'm sure everyone will say about Gaz is that he's always got a big smile on his face and a joyful energy which he brought to the interview.

We discussed how he got into climbing, how it became an addiction and how he manages climbing with his career cooking and freelance. It was all great stuff that I'm looking forward to crafting into the backbone of our story.

With the interview in the bag, Gaz treated us to some of his fantastic cooking. It was amazing and I can certainly see why he's starting his food truck business serving deep fried ravioli at festivals, weddings and events!

So with this interview, I think I've learnt that I need to find a second set of hands to help me setup and run the cameras while I'm interviewing. Or, I could try doing the backdrop technique like they do in the F1 Drive To Survive Netflix series...stay tuned to see what I decide to do in the future!
